Day 1 – Arrival in San Giovanni Rotondo
Arrive individually in San Giovanni Rotondo, one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in Southern Italy. The town is famous for the Sanctuary of Padre Pio, where the remains of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina are preserved.
Founded in the Middle Ages, San Giovanni Rotondo also offers traces of ancient history, including tombs and a circular baptistery dating back to pre-Roman times.
Don’t miss the modern sanctuary designed by world-renowned architect Renzo Piano.

Day 2 – Cycling from San Giovanni Rotondo to Rodi Garganico
Distance: 74 km | Elevation gain: +865 m
After bike delivery and a short briefing, your cycling adventure begins in the heart of the Gargano National Park. Ride through breathtaking landscapes and along the shores of Lake Varano, the largest coastal lake in Italy.
Your destination is Rodi Garganico, a charming seaside town perched on a promontory with a rich Greek and Roman heritage.

Day 3 – Optional Excursion to the Tremiti Islands
After breakfast, enjoy a free day. You can take a seasonal ferry (ticket not included) to the stunning Tremiti Islands, a protected Marine Nature Reserve since 1989.
Alternatively, relax in Rodi Garganico, exploring its sandy beaches, historic center, ancient port ruins, and picturesque “Vuccolo” district.

Day 4 – From Rodi Garganico to Peschici (Two Route Options)
Today you can choose between two cycling routes:

Coastal Route: 16 km | +276 m
Perfect for sea lovers, cycling along the Adriatic coast to Peschici. -
Mountain Route: 53 km | +1164 m
Ideal for sporty cyclists, heading towards the lush Umbra Forest, with spectacular views over the Tremiti Islands and a stop in Vico del Gargano.

Day 5 – Cycling the Gargano Coast to Vieste
Distance: 28 km | Elevation gain: +418 m
Today’s ride follows one of the most scenic stretches of the Gargano coastline, with golden beaches, dramatic cliffs, and Mediterranean pine forests.
Along the way you’ll see the famous trabucchi, traditional wooden fishing machines unique to this area.
Arrive in Vieste, home to the iconic white limestone monolith known as Pizzomunno and legendary sea caves waiting to be explored.

Day 6 – Vieste to Mattinata: The Gargano Promontory Ride
Distance: 48 km | Elevation gain: +982 m
Cycle along the spectacular Gargano promontory, where the coastline glows in soft pink hues and the sea shifts from deep blue to pastel tones.
This stage offers unforgettable panoramic views and a true immersion into the wild beauty of Puglia’s coastline.
Overnight stay in Mattinata.
Day 7 – Mattinata to San Giovanni Rotondo via Monte Sant’Angelo
Distance: 46 km | Elevation gain: +1032 m
Leave Mattinata and climb towards Monte Sant’Angelo, the oldest town on the Gargano Peninsula. Visit the incredible Sanctuary of Saint Michael the Archangel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europe’s most important religious landmarks.
Continue cycling back to San Giovanni Rotondo for your final overnight stay.
Day 8 – Departure Day
After breakfast, your cycling tour in Gargano, Puglia comes to an end.
End of services and farewell to beautiful Southern Italy!
