Day 1 – Arrival in Alberobello
Welcome to Alberobello, the famous Capital of the Trulli and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. The historic center is entirely made up of these iconic white stone houses with conical roofs, creating a fairytale atmosphere unique in the world.
Overnight stay in Alberobello.
Day 2 – Alberobello to Locorotondo
Distance: 23 km | Elevation gain: 196 m | Terrain: gravel & paved roads | Walking time: approx. 6 hours
Your hike begins leaving Alberobello behind, passing through the small village of Coreggia. You will follow a scenic stretch of the Apulian Aqueduct path, running alongside a dramatic doline and through a protected natural oasis with ancient oak trees.
The route continues on peaceful country roads surrounded by trulli and dry-stone walls, offering a true taste of the Valle d’Itria landscape.
Arrival in Locorotondo, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, famous for its circular old town and traditional “cummerse” houses.

Day 3 – Locorotondo to Cisternino
Distance: 15.7 km | Elevation gain: 209 m | Terrain: gravel & paved roads | Walking time: 4–5 hours
Today’s walk starts from Locorotondo, perched on a hill among terraced vineyards. You’ll follow charming rural paths lined with dry-stone walls and scattered trulli.
Midway, you join the Aqueduct cycle path, surrounded by Mediterranean nature and quiet countryside.
Your destination is Cisternino, a picturesque village of narrow alleys, small squares, and authentic rural charm.

Day 4 – Cisternino to Ostuni
Distance: 19.6 km | Elevation gain: 191 m | Terrain: gravel & paved roads | Walking time: approx. 5 hours
Walking through the silent countryside, you will experience the traditional landscapes of the Valle d’Itria: ancient sheep tracks (tratturi), small woodlands, cultivated fields, and trulli.
You’ll pass near the Archaeological Park of Santa Maria di Agnano, where the famous “Pregnant Woman of Ostuni” was discovered.
The day ends in Ostuni, the stunning White City overlooking the Adriatic coast.

Day 5 – Ostuni to Carovigno
Distance: 19.6 km | Elevation gain: 193 m | Terrain: gravel & paved roads | Walking time: approx. 5 hours
This stage takes you across the Plain of Monumental Olive Trees, home to some of the oldest olive trees in Europe—many over 2,000 years old.
A truly sacred Mediterranean landscape accompanies you all the way to Carovigno, a charming town dominated by the Dentice di Frasso Castle.

Day 6 – Carovigno to Serranova
Distance: 13.3 km | Elevation gain: 66 m | Terrain: gravel & paved roads | Walking time: approx. 3 hours
Leaving Carovigno, the route continues through peaceful countryside framed by eucalyptus trees and Mediterranean scrub.
A gentle walk among ancient olive groves, prickly pears, and rural villas leads you to Serranova, a tiny village full of local character.
Don’t miss a stop at Tonino’s grocery store, a beloved traditional spot.

Day 7 – Serranova to Brindisi
Distance: 26.3 km | Elevation gain: 72 m | Terrain: gravel & paved roads | Walking time: 6–7 hours
A longer and unforgettable day takes you through olive groves toward the Torre Guaceto Natural Reserve, one of the most beautiful protected coastal areas in Puglia.
You’ll walk along the Adriatic shoreline for about 10 km, following part of the ancient Via Traiana and Via Francigena routes. Before reaching Brindisi, you pass the medieval Church of Santa Maria del Casale.
Arrival in Brindisi, once a major port for the Holy Land, where the Roman columns still mark the end of the historic Via Appia.
Overnight in Brindisi.
Day 8 – Departure Day
After breakfast, your walking holiday in Puglia comes to an end.
Arrivederci and goodbye to the beauty of southern Italy!
